BE A SAVVY BUYER

After your house, buying a boat is likely to be the single biggest purchase you are likely to make.

This is also where your family will be spending a significant amount of time together.

And as much as we’d like to think of expensive items as “investments”,
a boat is a “user good”, so it behooves us to think about durability, and maintenance.

ABOVE ALL ELSE – UNDERSTAND THIS

THIS IS ABOUT FAR MORE THAN JUST THE BOAT

This is primarily about quality family time  —  which involves another relationship.
The one you have with the people whom you’ve entrusted to support this wonderful lifestyle you’ve chosen

SO, BE SAVVY, MAKE THE EFFORT, AND RESEARCH THE DEALER

This isn’t about being solely focused upon finding the cheapest boat on the internet.
You visit the dealer to not only view and experience the boats,
but also to shop for this imperative and critical support relationship.

Get out there, and qualify  the people, the facilities, and the expertise.
Find yourself a capable and proven team, that you can trust and rely upon to support your family’s time on the water.

As much as we’d like to think of our new boat as a luxury item,
unless you’re up at 6am, it will rarely be like a BMW driving down the Autobahn,
but often, more like a Jeep bouncing down a dirt road …
Between the elements and the occasional white-caps you find yourself in,
boats can take a beating, and sooner or later,
your boat isn’t going to start, or you will find yourself motoring your prop across a rock-pile, etc, etc

Have a team that is always available, always prepared, and appreciates the relationship.

THE DIFFERENCE THAT HAVING ENTHUSIASTS IN YOUR CORNER MAKES

Those smiles on your kids faces, that are so precious to you,
are there, not only because we’ve got your boat dialed in,
but also because you and the family are getting better at this all the time,
In California Skier, you’ve chosen a dealership where everyone here, is a life-long enthusiast ourselves.
Having raised our own families in this lifestyle, we are now pleased to pass on our knowledge and experience to you and yours,

YOUR SUCCESS ON THE WATER, IS OUR LIVELIHOOD
and we do not take this for granted
Your family will have the correct equipment, comprehensive instruction, and will be learning at the right pace,
and you can call anytime !!

MAKE IT A “WIN – WIN”

Again, providing you with both product and support services, is the livelihood of your dealer,
and the initial boat purchase is obviously the largest piece of that revenue stream, that allows the dealer to stay in business and be there for you,

Once you’ve found your quality dealer,
the team you know understands your needs, and hears your preferences,
and you trust will guide you into the right boat choice, as well as accommodate your service needs, both before and as they arise,
then by all means, anchor that valuable relationship,
by allowing THAT DEALER to make you a great deal on your new boat.

A quality dealer fosters an ongoing relationship with an ethic of exceptional service,
and a demeanor of gratitude

Now, with all of that said, let’s look at where potential “good deals” are found, both pre-season, and in-season:

BEST
FOR SAVINGS & SELECTION

Fall / Winter
Factory looking to balance production
Largest discounts for before year-end orders

If all the dealerships had their way, all new boats would be ordered in March, and arrive into inventory just as the weather was getting hot, and folks were ready to hit the lakes !! But the manufacturer business plan does not include laying everyone off and twiddling their thumbs at an empty factory for the entire Fall/Winter. So, nice $$ incentive discounts for off-season orders are offered, as a measure to balance annual production, and you get to custom design and order the exact color and options package that you want  —  price and style advantage to buyer.

EXCELLENT
BOAT SHOW INCENTIVES

Jan thru March
Dealers looking to jumpstart the year — Price and Finance incentives on in-stock boats

Tomcat Boats

Prepare to be in action. This is a competitive arena, and the advantage goes to the buyer that is ready. Dealers have begun to accumulate inventory, and the objective is to launch into a successful season by creating momentum at the Show. And this will be a team effort, as Dealers, Manufacturers, and Finance companies will all be participating in offering incentives. But understand that this is about strategically incentivizing sales pre-Spring, in a way where everyone wins  —  advantage Buyer, but the incentives expire the moment the carpet is rolled up. Prepare to be in action.

THE PRAGMATIC EDGE
IN SEASON ADVANTAGES

Warm weather is here
You’ve eluded Winter payments and storage fees. Time to hook one up and head out

It could very well be that you timed things just right. Had you reaped Winter or Show discounts, you might still have faded storage fees and submitted a few payments for a boat sitting on a trailer. Too late to design and order a new boat, but talented dealers do not carry ugly boats, so you are okay. Also, savvy dealers are eager to not carry over inventory, and will work aggressively to earn your business.
